This beautiful young lady has been in my life since she was only two weeks old. She was the first newborn I photographed, professionally. Before that I had only taken newborn photos of my nephew (who is about to be a senior in high school!) and an attempt at my own daughters photos, who never slept more than 10 minute at a time, so we went more lifestyle, lol. I have come a long way since then and learned many tricks. I remember the session so vividly because I was terrified. But everyone must have a first, and she was mine. I am so thankful that her parents have continued to trust me to capture her and the family year after year.
I have watched as she has grown from a charismatic toddler with boundless energy to a strong, confident, unique individual. She is fascinating in every way. She is always doing something new. From basketball, roller derby, drums. I am always excited to hear about her new adventures.
Her love for books brought us to the library for a session. I, too, have a great love for books. I tried the e-books, and will occasionally read one, but I prefer something more tangible. I want to feel the book in my hand. I also love looking through non fiction, art or photography books. So this was exciting that she chose this location. There is also a really unique, historic home on the property and bountiful old trees that a perfect for fall family photos. It appears, or so I hope, to be in the process of restoration. As much as I love books, I equally love architecture, especially anything turn of the century. I grew up in a home built in the late 1800’s with pocket doors and huge ceilings. The maples and oak trees are enormous, guessing they too have been around for a century or more. So this was a great location and I am always excited to try something new. Louisville amazes me that I continue to discover new finds. I love this city!
