I have had the great pleasure of photographing this family for many years. I met them when they were living here in Louisville but now live in Lexington. I love visiting them in my old stomping ground. Lexington has a special place in my heart not only is it absolutely beautiful and full of the greatest people but it is where I grew up, it’s charming and familiar. When we booked our session over the summer, for the fall, I can never tell people what the trees will look like on the date that they pick, sometimes October is the peak and other times it’s November. Well, they were in luck because trees were perfect the day that we had scheduled. Hues of orange, red and yellow painted the trees and ivy that crept up the side of turn the century buildings. In the past we have opted for more traditional sites such as parks or historical homes or even their home but this time we decided to venture downtown and that gave us an incredible backdrop for lifestyle photography. What I love the most about this family is the connection they all have. The love they have for each other is so obvious. The joy that they have found in each other and their children shines through in every moment. We started at the park where the trees were on fire with color and wandered around the streets of downtown Lexington after, looking for unique backdrops and it wasn’t hard to find. This was such a fun session and it was really hard for me just to narrow down a few to share with you. I hope you enjoy.
