As a children and family photographer, I have seen a few major melt downs and obstinate, yet child appropriate behavior in my day. It can be a lot for kids and parents when all you want is everything to be “perfect” and expectations are high. I always try to bring patience and understanding to every session and I am always up for any challenge, it is why I love working with children, yet it is completely unpredictable. And although I have worked with this growing family for many years and know they are awesome kids and have patient parents, I did prepare myself for a more challenging session. Let’s be honest, I am a mom and I know it isn’t always easy, so with four young kiddos, pushing sunset, anything can be expected. But they were great! Full of smiles and personality. They played yet listened when it was time. Yes, a few posed shots were more difficult than others, this is always true at these ages, but they rocked this session! And I shouldn’t have been surprised, they have rockstar parents! The one thing I want to happen for kids and parents during a session is to have fun, to focus on loving connections and highlighting the children’s personality through imagery. I couldn’t love these moments and this family more. I hope you enjoy!
