Who is ready for fall? It has been a hot summer but we are nearing the end. So I thought I would share a fun fall session. I’ve had the amazing opportunity to work with this family since Nikki, Mom, was pregnant with her first baby. I’ve always been blown away by the style that Nikki has brought to these family sessions. Recently she started her own clothing line and I am not surprised at all that it is incredible. This set is one of her designs, I love the color, the cuts, everything worked so perfect for this session.
Luckily we had such a warm, late fall and even though this was shot in early December we had great fall colors still littered on the ground and even in a few trees, and more exciting than that, layers of crunchy leaves that even adults can’t deny the fun you can have playing in leaves. There was so much joy and love in the session, I could not have been happier. There is just something so special about these ages, the way they see the world. Their love for simplicity and laughter was quite contagious.
Family photography sessions should be filled with joy and love. One thing that’s important to me is that we take the stress out of the perfect and put it into the moment, your hair doesn’t have to be perfect, your smile doesn’t have to be exactly the way you want it to be, it just needs to be real, be authentic. It is so important to me when I’m photographing a family that what shines through the most is love, it’s what gets us through the day, especially in times where we are continuously challenged. And this family was no stranger to love and fun. They are blessed.
